Can Delta V Instruments
provide burn-in test services?
Yes, we have a range of hardware to
accommodate most industry standard platforms. We perform burn-in to
JEDEC standard A108 and Military standard 883E and provide a full
set of process documentation. Our burn-in service staff will work
with you to clearly define test procedures specific to your device
needs and will provide the logistics management to ensure a smooth
process.
What are the
main problems facing the introduction of wafer level burn-in as an
industry standard?
The benefits of performing test at
the wafer level are significant but this is a new technology and we
are faced with several hurdles to ensure the process of performing
the burn-in test does not introduce failures. The three critical road
blocks to date have been:
The number of interconnections
required between the wafer under test and the test hardware.
The amount of power required to
test a large number of die in parallel.
The need to control the die
temperature with a high degree of accuracy.
Does Delta V
Instruments design all its own stimulus hardware?
In the case of our custom systems
we have an engineering staff who work directly with our customers to
design a set of stimulus hardware specific to their needs. The
engineering work starts from a set of basic building blocks
developed by Delta V Instruments. We have a long-term partnership
agreement with a leading European test system manufacturer to design
and manufacture state-of-the-art driver technology for inclusion in
our burn-in systems. Delta V Instruments is working closely with a
US test chip supplier to develop a sacrificial metal layer process
technology which will allow production burn-in to be performed at the wafer
level.
I would like to
run a burn-in qualification at my facility. Can I lease a package
level burn-in system from Delta V Instruments?
For those customers performing
in-house ATE testing it makes sense to have a burn-in system close
by. We offer a small footprint burn-in system capable of running up
to 8 burn-in boards. The stimulus hardware and test fixture racking
can be configured to meet your requirements. Typically the lease
period would be a minimum of 12 months. Delta V Instruments can
provide all support services to ensure your qualification is a
success.
